Laxman in Lanka
India has not won a test series in Sri Lanka since I can remember. Winning the third test has actually painted a better picture than it really is. Sri Lanka played qually good if not better cricket in the series. As for Lanka, they have never won a test series in India. India is the no. according to the rankings. They didn't look no. 1 for sure. The team that is looking no. 1 right now is England. But then they like India can always falter in the next series. Australia meanwhile looks disoriented for now. Back to the Indian series, it was back to Sachin and Laxman to save the day for the young brigade. Laxman proving that the knock against Australia was no flash in the pan. It was good to see him prove his worth. Pity he has had a career where he has always been expected to prove time and again. Another legend of the game said goodbye. Don't know if India would have won the final test had Murali been there. But then there can be no 'if' and 'buts'. Murali got 800 and retired. Dhoni got married and got 200. Sachin also got a 200. I have never considered myself a Sachin fan (I might be called traitor in India for saying this). But more than his swashbuckling young daya, it is his veteran's perseverance that's converting me to the Sachin sabha. It is now, that he is proving his true greatness as a sportsman. And for the first time I am keenly following Sachin and how he is going to finish his career. Waiting for his century of centuries in international cricket.
